Hello
I created this blog to help keep you up to date on the "event" that I'm organizing this spring called "Goldenchild's NYC Scramble".
What exactly is Goldenchild's NYC Scramble you ask? It's a team event and I suppose it's mostly a scavenger hunt that promises tons of fun for it's participants as they'll be hunting down all sorts of things all over NYC, Brooklyn, and even around some of our favorite local riding spots. Speaking of riding, you'll be doing all this searching and snooping around while you're on your motorcycle! 2 and 3 person teams only please.
All the details will certainly follow, but for now... enjoy your winter because come spring the Scramble IS ON!
Please feel free to read the FAQ's below...

FAQ's
Is this a race?
NO, this is not a race but the winners will need a strong sense of adventure, street smarts, and be good at improvising. They'll also need an intimate knowledge of certain parts of NYC, and the surrounding areas. A little luck wouldn't hurt either.
How many cc's your bike has, or how fast or slow a rider you are will not be a very big factor.
Instead, teamwork and team management will play a huge role in determining the winner. Teams will be allowed to split up to accomplish different tasks and regroup as needed in order to hunt out all the clues. The only thing that matters is that the whole team is back together again for checking in at the finish.
When is this event going to take place?
It will take place sometime in Spring so that people will have a chance to block out time for this. As the planning gets more involved I'll start posting up tentative dates. I'm also hoping that we'll get to enjoy some some nice weather.
Who can participate?
Anyone who has a sense of adventure! Oh, and a motorcycle. This is not a brand specific or type specific challenge. Any and all are welcome. Think you can win on a Vespa? Then I urge you to come on out! Riding 2 up counts as 2 team members, NOT 1!
What will I need to bring with me?
You'll need a digital camera, a way to carry items (tank bag, backpack, whatever), and a cell phone. Maps wouldn't be a bad idea either, and if you have an internet enabled mobile device (cell phone or PDA), you'll have a big advantage over the competition. Unless of course... you know that area as well as I do :)
You'll also need the usual things you carry with you when you're out riding; money for gas/food, all your paperwork proving you're legally able to own and operate your motorcycle, and proper riding gear. You also want to bring along extra money for items you might have to buy for the hunt (unless you're clever/crafty enough to get those items in another way, I'll leave that up to you).
